DEMCON is a high-end technology supplier of products and systems, with focus areas on high-tech, medical, embedded, opto-mechatronics and industrial systems & vision.
In September 2017 a project has started to develop a machine to measure optical surfaces. In the machine a Beckhoff PLC is used for controlling the process and data acquisition. The Beckhoff PLC uses the EtherCAT bus, which is a real–time Ethernet-based fieldbus. This bus connects the IO to the PLC. The machine contains a high performance measurement system that has only a VME interface and no EtherCAT interface.
The assignment is to create an interface board with an FPGA, that can be integrated in a VME rack, so the high performance measurement system can be connected on the EtherCAT bus. Now the data acquisition can be done by the PLC.
Before starting your internship, it is usual to define a clear, framed and achievable assignment with everyone who is involved.
You will be a part of the electronics engineering department and joining the project team. During your internship, you will be supervised by one assigned electronics engineering colleague who is able to help and support you.
If you would like to receive more information concerning the internship, you can contact Jasper Rikhof, Electronics Engineer (phone: 088 115 2000). If you would like to apply for the internship, please send your motivation letter and resume to Marleen Blanckenborg, recruiter (e-mail: email@example.com).
